Since April 2013 I have the honour of being the inaugural Social Media coordinator for the National Library of Australia. I’m also most widely know as a Wikimedian, hailing in Sydney, and founder of the GLAM-Wiki movement. I was also the Greens candidate for Ward B of the Sutherland Shire local Council elections. Before that I was a project officer for ARC Centre for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCi) working on helping Australian cultural organisations use Creative Commons. I’m also the 2012 Director’s Fellow at the National Museum of Australia. My username everywhere is “Wittylama” - an anagram. I speak French and Swedish, have a bachelors in Globalisation Studies and one highly prized university medal. Currently studying for a Masters in IP law from QUT/WIPO.
In former lives I have been the Wikimedia Foundation’s Cultural Partnerships Fellow (aka GLAM fellow), Vice President of Wikimedia Australia and the “Wikipedian in Residence” at the British Museum. Also, a project officer at Austlii and multimedia coordinator at the Dictionary of Sydney, a yellow shirt, historian, podcaster, fire-twirler, museuophile, snowboarder, förman, bartender and backpacker.
Peace, Love & Metadata to all!
